The average price for an overnight stay for two people with their own caravan at Bulgarian campsites in 2026 is €34.23. Prices at the seaside are about 8-9% higher compared to those in the interior of the country.
Do you know what the average price for an overnight stay at Bulgarian campsites is? According to the German platform Camping.info, in 2026 it is €22.88, which places our country in the bottom half of their rankings, i.e., among the cheaper destinations – between Lithuania and Slovakia. The comparison is based on the price of an overnight stay for two people in a caravan + car + electricity.
The sum of €22.88 seems unrealistically low, which is why we at Camping.BG examined the data published on their portal and found the reason. The price lists for some Bulgarian campsites were up to date, but for others, they had not been updated for years.
In order to get the actual figures, we need to comprehensively analyze the price lists of campsites in Bulgaria using a selection methodology so that it represents different parts of the country and types of facilities offering camping accommodation.
Prices vary from €18 at some camper stops to €50 - €66 at thermal campsites, which have mineral water pools, SPA, and wellness areas included in the price. The final data shows that for campsites in the interior of the country, the average price for an overnight stay for two people in their own caravan, with a car and access to electricity, is €32.89*.
When analyzing our selection of 12 seaside campsites, the data shows an average price of €37.05 per night, being €34.84 in the low season and €39.26 in the high season. In some tourist facilities, the car and electricity are included in the price for the pitch, but in others, they are charged additionally.
If we accept the average prices for other countries provided by Camping.info as correct, with €34.23, Bulgaria rises to the upper group, among the more expensive destinations – between Germany (€30.27) and Denmark (€34.35), but still far behind the most expensive and popular ones – Italy (€41.21) and Croatia (€41.26).
We are witnessing the rapid development of camping tourism in Bulgaria, especially over the last 5 years. Dozens of new campsites have opened across the country, with their total number now exceeding 200, or about twice as many as during the era of developed socialism. The level of amenities is increasingly higher, especially in the interior of the country. The Black Sea coast is currently lagging behind in this respect, but on the other hand, prices there are about 8-9% higher. Part of the explanation for this is more expensive land, a shorter season, and therefore limited revenue opportunities for owners.
* The data is based on a selection of a total of 37 campsites and camper stops. Out of these, 25 facilities are in the interior, and 12 are on the Black Sea coast, which corresponds to the ratio of the number of facilities in the two zones – approximately 2:1. Among the facilities in the interior of the country, we included 4 thermal campsites, 4 camper stops, and the remaining 21 facilities include both some of the most popular large campsites and smaller ones. Out of the 12 seaside campsites, 5 are from the Northern and 7 from the Southern Black Sea coast, which proportionally corresponds to the number of campsites in both zones.
