The Municipality of Devin has commissioned the creation of an investment project for the expansion of the public thermal bath in the Bedenski Bani area and the construction of a camping site for caravans, BTA reported. The mayor of the municipality, Zdravko Ivanov, specified that there are funds set aside in the budget for projecting, and this is the first step, as funding will still be sought for the realization of the idea.

"The Baden thermal baths are a priority project. It is included in the Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI), in which we are participating together with the municipalities of Borino, Madan, Rudozem and Nedelino," said Zdravko Ivanov.

The public bath is located in the Bedenski Bani area, along the Smolyan-Devin road. It has been closed for several days due to ongoing repairs and will not be open until December 8 of this year. The worn tiles will be replaced and the premises will be refreshed.

The mayor of Devin indicated that in the last three years, attendance at the bath has tripled, according to the revenue generated. The fee is symbolic - for adults it is BGN 3.60 and for pensioners BGN 2.40. Last year's revenue was around BGN 54,000, and this year the municipality reported significantly more revenue.

According to Zdravko Ivanov, the thermal water in the bath has healing properties for the locomotor system and it is visited mostly by Bulgarians who take treatment courses.
