31/06/2017 - A small, quiet and very friendly site, a short walk from Vaya Beach with a variety of pitches for RV and tent, also with fixed chalet style accommodation. Has a well appointed general store, clean and well maintained shower rooms with toilets and basins. A communal kitchen area. Laundry room. Friendly staff. English spoken. The Panorama Restaurant is a very short walk from the site, as is the Vaya Beach Bar
Our aim over the days that we planned to spend at Camping Irakli was to experience what has been an annual event in Bulgaria since the 1980’s … a ‘hippy’ event which I think fits well with the ‘Dub’; July morning - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/July_Morning
I made a relatively short notice booking by email and was surprised to receive a response accepting my request for two nights. We arrived during the afternoon on Thu 29 Jul to a welcoming wave from the guy on the gate, and a smile from Mariya as she welcomed us and showed us our pitch. They were busy so it was no surprise that the pitch allocated was slightly sloping, on grass and not very well shaded, with a forecast to be the hottest two days of the year - up to 40c. There are shaded pitches, and efforts to provide more, with young trees in evidence. The facilities were pointed out, which we duly explored and found to be really well put together, and clean. There was no dedicated waste disposal point that I saw. The communal kitchen area had a microwave, toaster, gas hob, sink and mini-BBQ’s … all were clean and well maintained. The site is tranquil and quiet and has its own very well stocked general store. The site has wi-fi but we didn't make use of it. The registration was simple at the office next to the shop, and the price, well, exceptional value - BGN 40 for two adults staying two nights with a small camper. The greatest benefit for us was access (50-75m max) to a stunning and relatively unspoilt beach … one of the least busy, cleanest and well organised beaches that we've experienced in Bulgaria - though it is developing and if you want sun beds and parasol they'll cost BGN 18 for the day (today). A very short walk from the site is the Panorama Restaurant which serves good basic Bulgarian food, and the Vaya Beach Bar which offers drinks and snacks - to us, both over-priced in comparison to local pricing.
